Footrot Flats is one of my favorite pieces of obscure foreign media (to American's eyes). Recently, I found out that Murray Ball, the creator of the cartoon, died on March 12th. So, I have decided to upload some of my Footrot Flats drawings in tribute to him.
This is the first of three I made in the past few months. I believe I made this in the summer of 2016. It's one of my favorite drawings I made. It features the Dog from Footrot Flats wearing a soldier helmet and smoking a cigarette. I drew this after listening to War's "Tobacco Road/I Have a Dream". It's a pretty good song. The reason Dave Dobbyn's name is on there is because I would like to hear a cover of the song from him. If he were to, I hope he would choose this as the cover.
By the way, someone painted a mural paying tribute to Murray Ball on a water reserve in New Zealand. It has a risk of being painted over, but I want to save it and make it a landmark or a monument/memorial. So please visit my petition and sign it: www.change.org/p/auckland-coun…
(I couldn't put it in literature because it won't let me so might as well put it in journal) A loud popping thrashing sound awoken me all of sudden. followed with a huge tug causing my platoon to fall off they're seats. Fortunately I was pulled by my vixen causing me to stay upright for while untill I was able to gain balance. Unfortunately for the rest of my men. They flop around trying to get back up. "What god's name was that!" I yelled. Phill responded with "we don't know sir" before putting his cap back on. It was mess all of our equipment wer scattered all over the place. So I decided to rush outside to investigate what had just happens before being blocked by my Delphox. Who wasn't keen on me leaving the truck. So I open the blanket from the side of the vehicle because I had no time to lose. She was hesitant calling for me to hop back inside. But I had to see. After walking to the front. In God tears of joy (a.k.a rain). I stumbled upon kip who is checking on the tires. "What's crack a lacking" I said."nothing to serious sir just few spikes". "You mean spikes as mines?. Popers? Oh oh a animal maybe". "No sir take a look" he stooded up to show me his hands. In them were long black needles. "What are they?" I said "not sure" he said. Suddenly i heard a off clicking sound coming from a bit away of the truck. "What's that" he said with a face of dread. "Don't know... Not a Pokémon I ever heard". I pulled out a Pokéball. (So sorry gotta go to bed. Hopefully I'll continue this tomorrow).
